You will start in an important stop on the Long Road: Red Larch. Lately is has become engrossed with strange rumors and ominous signs, including reports of bandit attacks on the roads, piracy on the Dessarin River and monster sightings too close to town. 5 factions have turned their interests to this town and the troubles of the wider Dessarin Valley: The Harpers, The Order of the Gauntlet, The Emerald Enclave, The Lord's Alliance and The Zentarim. You can read about these online and opt to tie your character to one of them somehow.
