You are a wizard of the Gognore wizard academy close to the city of Luskan. You are not the smartest wizard around. Others might even think you are the stupidest wizard around. But hey that's why you're at the academy right. Jidium, one of the Archmages, has a job for you today. Together with the other bunch of less fortunate wizards.

This session is for all experience levels. You can bring your own character if it follows the following rules:

• You need to create a Wizard (no multiclassing)
• All official content is allowed
• No homebrew
• For ability score use Standard Array or Point Buy
• Custom Lineage / Races etc from Tasha's are allowed
• You will roll a random character trait at the start of the session

There is something lurking in the woods...

We write the year of 1754. For the last weeks of September, rumours spread of some danger emerging from the woods of Pennsylvania.
Is it the French? Or the Iroquois? Or is it something even more vile and evil...?

Major-General Edward Braddock has asked you, a compagnie of Frontiersmen (and women), to investigate the threat. And, if possible, to eliminate the danger.
Are you up to the task?

What? DnD in the eighteenth century?

Yes, sir, Yes Madam. It will be a low-magic one-shot. But with plenty of fire-arms and exploding gun-powder-barrels.
Character sheets will be provided (as a dragonborn sorcerer doesn't fit in the Americas of the 1750's).

The small letters

• My tables are always beginners friendly. Always.
• If there are non-Dutch people, the table will be in English.
• My primary goal is to create a fun evening for ALL players involved.
• Any brain damage as a result of unexpected plot-twists is not to be liability of the DM in a court of law.
• No animal will be hurt during the duration of this one-shot.

Ever heard about the Cementery of Kalea Ma-Har, by the shore of Dim Water? Or Kal-Halaran, as clanfolk call the lake, based on some... well, half silly, half terrifying legend. Yes, it was one of the first sites plundered by Ambrian treasure-hunters; Olangai Boldfoot became quite famous there for a while. But it is not what it once was. Everyone says so; ask around if you don't believe me. No doubt, if you are looking for darkness, the cemetery of Kalea Ma-Har is where you should be heading...

Symbaroum is a TTRPG set in a more bleaker world. One in which treasure hunter go in a dark forest in search of ancient artefacts. It is a world where magic will corrupt you, but you will probably need to use magic to survive in such a hostile environment. In general, you can expect a creepy dark environment well suited for the halloween month.

Rules will be explained in 5 minutes, with a bit more explanation if you encounter some specific scenarios from the starter set.

Pre-generated character sheets will be provided. These include choices that might be unusual for a regular DnD player, like an Ogre wizard. Symbaroum uses the standard DnD dice set (so d4,d6,d8,d10,d12,d20).

You and your future party members have each gotten a letter from Vasil Talistrome, a human sage who lives in Baldur's gate. In the letter he describes that a powerful item has been taken from him by a friend, although he thinks this isn't something he did while being in control of himself. He asks you to meet him at his mansion for more information and help him retrieve this artifact back. Of course, there will be a reward if successful. 
Will you accept this mission and help Vasil?
