D&D / TTRPG One-Shots

Thursday, 31 October 2024 @ 19:30

Location: Geldropseweg 83, 5611SE Eindhoven

Every Thursday evening we host a One-Shot event. One-Shots are D&D or other TTRPG adventures that are played in a single session.

Weekly we try to get 5 a 6 GM's to run a table in D&D or other TTRPG rulesets and at different playing levels. It really doesn't matter if you are a beginner or expert player. All people are welcome. Our tables run in dutch and/or english (as we have a big expat community in the region in and around Eindhoven.)

Entrance fee for playing is 3.50 euro + 1.50 euro for consumption credit.

Please check out our socials for more information about the D&D and TTRPG One-Shots

To Steal a Shipment of Bananas

Definetly not Doppelgangers is a silly roleplay-based fantasy game where your goal as a player is to maintain your disguise by acting like the person whose identity you have taken, and keeping suspicion off yourself through many convoluted webs of lies.

In this very first edition of "Definetly not Doppelgangers", your party of definetly not doppelgangers is to steal a very important shipment of bananas. But don't let the paladin get you!

Character creation takes 10-30 minutes and we'll do so at the table together. Bring pen, paper and a d20.

After the successes of "Oops! All bards!" #1 and #2, "Oops! All birds!", "Oops! All beards!", "Oops! All bastards!", and "Oops! All boneyards!", we now have "Oops! All backwards!"

You come from a remote and backward part of the world. And as a child you were told you'd never amount to anything. So when you were old enough to leave town, you left and joined up with a group of likewise ill-fitted mishaps "adventurers". Your group has undertaken many assignments and, while most assignments involve somewhat shady business such as heists and subterfuge, you try to be as honourable as possible.

However, recently your group has been blackmailed into undertaking a high-risk assignment: steal the sacred Flame of Anour 🔥 from the Keepers of the Blazing Heart. ❤️

You successfully stole the Flame of Anour, but the theft will likely be discovered soon and the way you conducted the heist will point straight to you. You know the Keepers of the Blazing Heart don't take kindly to thieves. It also happens to be that your blackmailer has meanwhile had a simple lethal accident ☠️ and thus the threat of blackmail is now null and void.

Only a reverse theft will save you from the wrath of the Keepers. How will you perform this backwards heist? 🥷

A god does not reject a duel. For to encounter the goddess of red steps, to encounter defeat is nothing if not human
Your group has all reached walhalla one way or another from fighting till death to hitching a ride on a valkerie all with one goal in mind. To kill a god, baldr to be precise for he has taking things from you that you’ll never get back. So the only remaining thing to do is take something from him he’ll never get back. Whether that’s his life or something dear is still up for debate. But a god can not be defeated like a man would. You’d need more than the weapons of man and you just so happend to have found a way. And have all aquired the same lead.

It is said that of the thousands of giants only three reached walhalla Because of betrayal and neutrality. But a little fox told you one might not be as neutral as they say. This foxie told you there might be a traitor in walhalla.

So will you enjoy the limitless banquet with friends and foes or will you take your vengeance?

For equipment each one of you gets one rare magic item of your choice. Try to think up what happend to your character for them to come all this way.

For this game we will be using :
Standard array or point buy.
Set hp (unless you want to roll at the table)
And no unearthed arcana homebrew or one d&d rulings. Custom lineage and setting specific backgrounds and feats are allowed

Prologue

The traveling extravaganza known as the Witchlight Carnival visits your world once every eight years. You have a dim memory of sneaking into the carnival as a child without paying for a ticket. That memory has grown foggy over time, though it still conjures a weird admixture of emotions—wonder and awe mixed with loss and regret. During this childhood visit, your character lost something. You tried to find it, but the carnival owners—a pair of elves named Mister Witch and Mister Light—were decidedly unhelpful.

“Silly little screeching cricket,” said Witch. “You forgot to buy a ticket.”

“The carnival goes round and round,” said Light. “The multiverse is our playground. Nothing’s free and nothing’s lost. Every visit has its cost.”

As time passed, your heart became less heavy, and you gave less and less thought to those childhood events. Now, for reasons you can’t explain, the longing to retrieve that which you have lost has resurfaced, as though an old spell has faded away, allowing you to feel the loss as sharply as if it happened yesterday.

The Witchlight Carnival has returned, and you find yourself standing near a ticket booth by the entrance at twilight, just as the carnival is about to open. There you meet others who look as troubled as you. Without knowing how or why, you sense that each of them has lost something as well. Perhaps fate has brought you together.

Joining the campaign

This is a hop-on hop-off campaign. Meaning that every time we play it can be a different party furthering the story. It's on a first come, first serve basis. Therefore I cannot promise anyone a seat on the table.

I will anounce after every session when the next table will be scheduled.

Any information of the campaign so far can be found here: https://wbtwl.burnacid.com/

Your backstory

You have been to the carnaval before as a young child. You have lost something the last time you visted. What that is, is randomly decided the first time you play (or by contacting me on discord). You have come to the carnaval again and end up into this adventure (depending on how far we are ofcourse)

Rules for making your character:

  • All official content is allowed
  • Using the 2024 PHB is allowed to test. Please inform me before the start of the session
  • Fairy, Harengon and Satyr races are not allowed due to story related stuff
  • Feylost and Witchlight Hand backgrounds is not allowed
  • No Unearth Arcana
  • For ability score use Standard Array, Point Buy OR my own customized relaxed Point Buy Calculator (https://burnacid.github.io/D-DStatsCalculator/)
  • For HP use average
