D&D / TTRPG One-Shots

Thursday, 8 December 2022 @ 19:30

Location: Visserstraat 18-A, 5612 BT Eindhoven

Every Thursday evening we host a One-Shot event. One-Shots are D&D or other TTRPG adventures that are played in a single session.

Weekly we try to get 5 a 6 GM's to run a table in D&D or other TTRPG rulesets and at different playing levels. It really doesn't matter if you are a beginner or expert player. All people are welcome. Our tables run in dutch and/or english (as we have a big expat community in the region in and around Eindhoven.)

Entrance fee for playing is 3.50 euro + 1.50 euro for consumption credit.

Please check out our socials for more information about the D&D and TTRPG One-Shots

Greetings new students and welcome to Strixhaven University!

Strixhaven university was founded seven centuries ago by five ancient dragons, now long gone. It is the premier institution for magical learning, drawing promising young mages from all over the planes. Strixhaven consists of five colleges and the university covers a vast array of academic and magical specialities.

As new students in your first year, everything is very overwhelming. You have already had your fair share of homework, exams (which you passed!), extracurriculars and whatnot. You've found your footing now and found a rythm of studying, spending time with friends and going to class. But something fishy is going on.

For this semi-campaign the following rules apply:

  • Character needs to have magical affinity (for example a wizard, sorcerer ofc, but the feytouched/shadowtouched feat is also enough) Unsure if allowed? Shoot me a message!
  • Tasha's and MotM-friendly
  • No homebrew or UA (including One D&D)
  • Use standard array or point buy for stats

Need help with your character? You are absolutely welcome to hit me up! :)

Between last and this session, your character would've had 2 weeks of downtime. Please add me on Discord (Cat™#0666) so we can discuss in detail how your character would've spent this downtime and what they would've gotten out of it.

If you have any more questions, you can find me every thursday in the store, or you can shoot me a message on Discord. Or send a carrier pigeon but they will probably get eaten by my cat.

Campaign: Wild Beyond the Witchlight #17

The traveling extravaganza known as the Witchlight Carnival visits your world once every eight years. You have a dim memory of sneaking into the carnival as a child without paying for a ticket. That memory has grown foggy over time, though it still conjures a weird admixture of emotions—wonder and awe mixed with loss and regret. During this childhood visit, your character lost something. You tried to find it, but the carnival owners—a pair of elves named Mister Witch and Mister Light—were decidedly unhelpful.

“Silly little screeching cricket,” said Witch. “You forgot to buy a ticket.”

“The carnival goes round and round,” said Light. “The multiverse is our playground. Nothing’s free and nothing’s lost. Every visit has its cost.”

As time passed, your heart became less heavy, and you gave less and less thought to those childhood events. Now, for reasons you can’t explain, the longing to retrieve that which you have lost has resurfaced, as though an old spell has faded away, allowing you to feel the loss as sharply as if it happened yesterday.

The Witchlight Carnival has returned, and you find yourself standing near a ticket booth by the entrance at twilight, just as the carnival is about to open. There you meet others who look as troubled as you. Without knowing how or why, you sense that each of them has lost something as well. Perhaps fate has brought you together.

This is a private table and can't be registered for. Please contact the Game Master if you like to know more.

A lost long ship has been spoted close to the coast of Saltmarsh. The old owner hired your guild, the Ghost Kids, to retrieve a chest with valuable cargo. He used to be a very successful rich merchant, and invested most of his money a decade ago to buy the contents of the chest, but the ship went missing. After years of struggling financially because that failed investment, he is willing to give 10% of the profit to you, that being 10000 gold pieces for you, if you can bring the content to him. Are you ready to explore the mystery of the disappearance of that ship lost at sea?

-All official content is allowed.
-No homebrew allowed.
-The Unearthed Arcana of DnD One is allowed, but give me a heads up beforehand.
-Your character has worked with the Ghost Kids for at least a year and have made a good friendship with the people joining the mission. Your characters are a good pre-stablished team.
-Players that have participated in any other of the adventures I have ran in the store are invited to use a previous character, with the magic items and gold they have collected so far.
-Your character has been in Saltmarsh 2 weeks since their last adventure, so you can PM me to ask for downtime activities your character could to do before the game. You can tell me what is your PC doing and we can make a fun skill check to see the outcome!
-If you are starting new in the guild, on top of the usual starting equipment, the Ghost Kids gave you 400gp, so you can equipt yourself with anything that you want to buy for the mission. You can make your shopping calculations on your own by using the prices of adventuring gear from the PHB. If you desire to buy magic items, PM me to check the prices Piruuu has for you.
-For stats you may use standard array or point buy.
-You get a free feat in character creation! (unless you are using DnD One character creation, since it already gives a free feat).
-I made a campaign on DnD Beyond for the adventures of the Ghost Kids, so players can make their characters there. It is optional, but it helps me a lot to be familiar to your character to tailor the adventure around it.
-If you have any question, do not hesitate to PMing here or in Discord (username Eo)

Dragons of Stormwreck Isle - Chapter 2

MartinR

Game table
Game table

Dragon's Rest is a cloister on Stormwreck Isle where people come to seek peace and enlightenment. The reasons for coming here are varied, but you will soon find something in common with the others who came here: you hear about the problems facing Stormwreck Isle, and decide to help turn Dragon's Rest back to the peaceful and quite state it is supposed to be in.

Sessions 1 recap: The adventuring group got shipwrecked on Stormwreck Isle, despite it being a calm day weather wise. The crew of the transport ship is gone. On the island they discovered some weird things going on. The dead rising from their grave is a Tuesday for an adventurer, but a polar bear on an island this close to Neverwinter is definitly cause for concern.

While spending some time in the cloister, the adventuring group found out about 2 major problems facing stormwreck isle.

1. These shipwrecks have been happening a lot more lately

2. The myconids are facing problems. Besides being part of the ecosystem of the island, they also provided the cloister with a certain red mushroom used to create healing potions.

The adventuring group decided to look into the shipwrecks first, they talked to Rix (a devout follower of Bahamut), who agreed to help them (considering that followers of Bahamut prefer deeds over words, she was quite easy to convince). The group along with the kobold are now preparing to head out to the shoreline and find out why there is such an increase in shipwrecks.

This adventure is a (small) campaign from the new starter set, so character sheets can be provided in case you didn't make your own character. If you do make your own character, use the following rules:

-All official content is allowed (including Tasha's).

-No homebrew allowed.

-For the stats you can use either point buy or the standard array.

- Make sure to come up with a reason for why you are looking to go to Dragon's Rest

- Besides the default standard gear, Your character can take either 1 adventuring gear, or 1x the material components of a spell which cost money, with them.
