D&D / TTRPG One-Shots

Every Thursday evening we host a One-Shot event. One-Shots are D&D or other TTRPG adventures that are played in a single session.

Weekly we try to get 5 a 6 GM's to run a table in D&D or other TTRPG rulesets and at different playing levels. It really doesn't matter if you are a beginner or expert player. All people are welcome. Our tables run in dutch and/or english (as we have a big expat community in the region in and around Eindhoven.)

Entrance fee for playing is 3.50 euro + 1.50 euro for consumption credit.

Prologue

The traveling extravaganza known as the Witchlight Carnival visits your world once every eight years. You have a dim memory of sneaking into the carnival as a child without paying for a ticket. That memory has grown foggy over time, though it still conjures a weird admixture of emotions—wonder and awe mixed with loss and regret. During this childhood visit, your character lost something. You tried to find it, but the carnival owners—a pair of elves named Mister Witch and Mister Light—were decidedly unhelpful.

“Silly little screeching cricket,” said Witch. “You forgot to buy a ticket.”

“The carnival goes round and round,” said Light. “The multiverse is our playground. Nothing’s free and nothing’s lost. Every visit has its cost.”

As time passed, your heart became less heavy, and you gave less and less thought to those childhood events. Now, for reasons you can’t explain, the longing to retrieve that which you have lost has resurfaced, as though an old spell has faded away, allowing you to feel the loss as sharply as if it happened yesterday.

The Witchlight Carnival has returned, and you find yourself standing near a ticket booth by the entrance at twilight, just as the carnival is about to open. There you meet others who look as troubled as you. Without knowing how or why, you sense that each of them has lost something as well. Perhaps fate has brought you together.

Joining the campaign

This is a hop-on hop-off campaign. Meaning that every time we play it can be a different party furthering the story. It's on a first come, first serve basis. Therefore I cannot promise anyone a seat on the table.

I will anounce after every session when the next table will be scheduled.

Your backstory

You have been to the carnaval before as a young child. You have lost something the last time you visted. What that is, is randomly decided the first time you play (or by contacting me on discord). You have come to the carnaval again and end up into this adventure (depending on how far we are ofcourse)

Rules for making your character:

  • All official content is allowed
  • Fairy, Harengon and Satyr races are not allowed due to story related stuff
  • Feylost and Witchlight Hand backgrounds is not allowed
  • No Unearth Arcana
  • For ability score use Standard Array, Point Buy OR my own customized relaxed Point Buy Calculator (https://burnacid.github.io/D-DStatsCalculator/)
  • For HP use average

Are you in love with Disney movies and have you always wanted to be a Disney princess? Now is your chance!

In the serene kingdom of Luminescia, a mysterious darkness begins to creep across the land, causing the once-vibrant flora to wither and die. As the kingdom teeters on the brink of ruin due to this blight, a brave coalition of Disney princesses must band together to uncover the source of the devastation. Their quest leads them through enchanted forests and ancient ruins, where they gradually piece together the truth. In a dramatic final confrontation, they must face the dark forces that are at play. Only by breaking the spell they can hope to restore Luminescia to its former glory, proving that true strength lies in unity and the power of friendship.

Roleplay - 9/10
Exploration - 8/10
Combat - 4/10
Puzzels solving - 3/10

The following is applied for this oneshot:

  • Level 3 charater sheets wil be provided - on paper or in D&D Beyond
  • This is a roleplay heavy table with little to no combat, ofcourse each friendly encounter can always turn sour, or each enemy can be talked down. That depends on the players, but it will feature more roleplaying overall.
  • Please let me know if you have a preference for a specific disney princess and I will try my best to include them as an option (I cannot promise anything)
  • If you have previously played one of my princess oneshots, you can bring the princess you played before!

Under Siege - part 2

Last time the party started the siege,they created some sympathy in the city and started a fight on the wall. Still they need to reach more sympathy and reach the inner city.

 

The City of Enivaluna had been a free hub for sharing knowledge for centuries. Full libraries filled with books on any topic imaginable.This unfortunately drew the attention of of foreign attackers. Claiming this knowledge for themselves would ensure their hold on the continent.

What they didn't expect though was that a lot of the books were either stolen or burned before their invasion started.

After a 100 years the invaders still hold the city of Enivaluna. However they didn't get hold on the rest of the continent. 

Joining together in an attempt of reclaiming the city several of the outlander armies still remaining have joined the ranks of the elves.

You are part of the Siege of Enivaluna. Whatever your motives are it will certainty be a battle of a lifetime.

- Level 6

- All official allowed 

- Standard array or point buy. Everyone may pick a free feature

- "Regular" armor allowed. You're free to pick up to plate armor.

Greta Base hasn't responded in six months. Now it's your job to find out why. Dropped into a storm-wracked alien jungle, you and your team must navigate the eerie silence of an abandoned colony, uncover the fate of the missing scientists, and confront an otherworldly threat beyond your worst nightmares. In the depths of Samsa VI, no one can hear you scream.

Mothership is a space horror RPG that uses an easy-to-learn d100 Panic Engine. Checks require you to roll under your stat/skill levels to succeed. If you fail, you gain stress. Rolling a critical fail or witnessing something particularly gruesome can lead to a Panic check (d20), where you have to roll above your current stress level to avoid panicking.

  • Gore/blood
  • Body horror
  • Suicide (off-screen)

Additional information:

  • Character sheets will be provided: we will make characters together in-session.
  • This game/scenario is beginner-friendly.
  • Scrap paper + pencil can be useful.
  • You'll need a d100 (2d10 percentile dice), and 1d20 for skill/panic checks.
