D&D / TTRPG One-Shots

Every Thursday evening we host a One-Shot event. One-Shots are D&D or other TTRPG adventures that are played in a single session.

Weekly we try to get 5 a 6 GM's to run a table in D&D or other TTRPG rulesets and at different playing levels. It really doesn't matter if you are a beginner or expert player. All people are welcome. Our tables run in dutch and/or english (as we have a big expat community in the region in and around Eindhoven.)

Entrance fee for playing is 3.50 euro + 1.50 euro for consumption credit.

Star Trek adventures: A star beyond the stars

“Captain’s log, Stardate 47515.4: We are in the remote Elicona sector, investigating the disappearance of the U.S.S. Alcubierre. After three days in this unpopulated region of space, we found a promising lead. Hours ago, long-range sensors detected a vessel and the presence of subspace interference. The ship is several parsecs outside Federation territory. The Alcubierre was on special assignment, testing new engine systems designed to exceed warp 5 without damaging subspace. I can only surmise that something went terribly wrong with the experiments.”

This star trek adventure is from the starter set. Basic rules are explained at the start (will take about 5 minutes). Star Trek adventures uses a 2d20 system, so your standard D&D dice set should suffice. The basic rules are explained in 5 minutes, and any advanced rule will be explained once it is relevant to the situation.

Expect to see space ship vs ship combat rules this session as well.

mission 1 recap: The away team successfully entered the hangar bay and stunned some Romulans in the hallway close to the medbay. They are now in navigation, where they found an ensign from the ship who is still alive. Together they must now come up with a plan to take back the ship.

mission 2 recap: After taking back the ship by brute phasers force, the team was sent to an abandoned Klingon outpost. There they found out that the klingons have been infested by some parasite worm. On the security footage, they also found another ship that didn't belong there. Tracing where it went, the away team is now in an underground mining outpost.

 

- Character sheets will be provided from the starter set box

Mission Statement - Confidential - For Your Eyes Only

For years, the peace between the Gnomes and Humans, although uneasy, was at least upheld. The former reclusive and seldom seen Gnomes moved to the cities, found jobs as artificers and toymakers, started families and integrated in society. However, it seems the Gnome High Tinkerer, Fizz Buzz, had been hatching a master plan in secret all along!

In secret, the Gnomes under lead of Fizz Buzz have been building a massive superweapon, a gigantic platform of invulnerable destruction that could wipe entire cities of the map in hours! Luckily, we became aware of this plan, just in time to stop it from raining doom on us!

You are a secret group of elite "problem solvers", carrying out dangerous missions deep behind enemy lines.

You will start your mission by making contact with one of our spy agents. He got his hands on the designs of the superweapon and has identified a weak spot. He will hand you the plans for this mission, and you will take it from there.

As per usual: If you get captured or killed, we will deny any affiliation with your party.

Our fate is in your hands... Again!

Information

This is a one-shot adventure with the EZD6 system. This is an easy to learn, rules-light system centered around the regular six-sided dice. This is a system that can be called "D&D without the rules", so it's especially easy for beginners/first-timers to start, and veterans to enjoy!

Dice are be provided if you don't have them (The system uses just six-sided dice). Character creation is a quick process so we will do this as a group at the start of the game, but if you already have a character you are welcome to bring it!

Last ime we've seen our heroes, they were helping the city of Megalopis rebuild when they noticed some spider-like robots coming to attack them. The bots were no match for our heroes, and were eventualy dealt with.

In the aftermath, our heroes received a psychic beacon that directs them to another situation that requires their attantion.

This system is heavily based on superhero comic books, and that style of adventures. it uses the so-called GYRO system, which is named after the different status-zones a character can have (Green, Yellow, Red, Out).that

Characters have different Powers, each of which is asigned a die, ranging from a d6 (above human average) to a d12 (godlike). The skills, talents, and knowledge a character has are combined in the Qualities, again represented with a die ranging from a d6 (solid competency) to a d12 (world class). The different status-zones are also represented with its own dice.

When a character performs an action, the player starts describing how the action would look like on the panel of the comic. They then pick one of their Powers to use, and collect the corresponding die. The same goes for which Quality they want to use. Finally, they check their status and add the die to their pool. Then they roll all three dice, and usually the MIDDLE RESULT is what determines the effect of the action.

For example: Player A wants to attack an enemy. And starts describing what the character would do. After descibing the attack, the player chooses the d10 for the “Weather” Power, a d8 for Finesse and the d6 for the Green Zone. The roll turns out as a 1-4-7: The 4 is the MIDDLE RESULT so the attack would deal 4 damage.

An interesting part in this game is the turn order. When a scene starts, someone will get to act first, depending on what’s happening. At the end of any character's turn, the current character gets to pass the initiative to the next character in the scene, but each character has to act once per round before another character can react again.

The Ghost Kids protect a village

Last night a couple of poor villagers came to ask for your help. Their town is being raid by bandits every harvest season and desperatly ask for your help. They can only offer a few silver pieces, which was all what the town put together. The bandits will come in a couple of weeks to ask for their "tribute", at the summer solstice. The villagers do not have any idea on how to fight, and the bandits outnumber your party 10-1 in the best case scenario. You must need to be clever, bold and brave to survive.

-For character creation you can use point buy, you start with 400gp, and you get to add a free feat!

-All official content is allowed, yet Unearth Arcana is not allowed. 

-Your character forms past of the Ghost Kids for over a year. Your character works well with his party and must have a strong motivation to be in the adventure.

-If you send me a +150 word backstory in which you show the motivation of the character and what do they care about, you get to pick an uncommon magic item to start. 

-If we can't end the story before 11:30, we will assume that your party had to retreat, making the mission a failure. Live to fight another day. 

-If you have used another character of the Ghost Kids, you can bring them back with all the gold and magic items that they have gathered so far.

Welcome to the jungle

You are a group of adventurers that has been working to solve different quests for a well known adventure guild. You juat completed a quest in the middle of the jungle and are now on your way back to the city you came from. Sadly during the quest your guide was lost, so now you are too. Trying to find your way back, you stumble upon a clearing bustling with creatures and beings.

The following is applied for the oneshot:

  • All official content is allowed
  • No homebrew
  • No Unearth Arcana
  • For ability score use Standard Array or Point Buy
  • Custom Lineage / Races etc from Tasha's are allowed

Hi all,
I will continu the adventures set in Waterdeep based on the Dragonheist books.
This adventure is semi campaign style, choices made by characters have impact on the next one-shot, magic items required will be shared by the group and if you keep track of your own exp. you can come back and level up.

Upcoming quest:
You have received a flyer of some kind for a wagon sale outside of Waterdeep with insane low prices. You could very much use a wagon for coming plans, lets see if these prices are really as crazy as they sound.

- All official content is allowed;
- Homebrew allowed with approval (contact the DM);
- Unearthed Arcana allowed;
- For ability score use Standard Array or Point Buy;
- Custom Lineage / Races etc from Tasha's are allowed;

- You are working for a adventurers guild with a good name and they like to keep it that way!
